Hi. I hope somone can help. So it my old property. I had a Hive thermostat. Im usually quite warm so dont use the heating regularly. However if i needed it for a couple of hours when i went to bed i would for example boost the heating at 21 degrees for 2 hours. So my question is how do i of even possible do something similar with nest. I dont want to create a schedule as such becuse as mentioned, one is different to the next. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello JayF1981,
Thanks for reaching out. I'm happy to help.
For Nest thermostats, fan control can be an option to help your heat to boost the at a specific time. If you have a system with a dedicated fan wire to your thermostat, you can manually turn on the fan with the app or your thermostat, or set a fan schedule. The longer you run your fan, the more energy it will consume, which may raise your power bill but may help to balance out the temperatures in your home.
Have a look at this article and let us know if you need more help.

Hi JayF1981,
Thanks for clarifying and I'm sorry for the confusion.
An option to turn on the heat or cool for a specific number of hours or duration with the Nest thermostat is yet to be available. Only the fan control settings have this feature. What will happen is, If you set your thermostat to a specific temperature and it reaches that temperature, your system will turn off automatically. So when it detects a sudden change in the temperature of at least 2-3 degrees, your thermostat will activate your system automatically.
Feel free to let us know if you have more questions in mind.
Best regards,
Mark
