I'm not sure which Nest thermostat we have as it was in our house when we bought it.
I have cleared previous schedules and have set the temperature to 72F. I continue to come home to the house being above 72F and it is not actively cooling. I don't understand why it doesn't start cooling once it surpasses the set temperature.
Can someone please help fix this?

You might want to turn off other settings like eco / auto schedule / cool to dry & airwave under settings. That’s if you want to control your temp manually. Good luck.

Hi folks,
@WI_Rainbow, thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Let's sort this out.
This might be because the temperature schedules of your thermostat override the temperature that you want the thermostat to actively call for. What type of Nest thermostat do you have? If you have either the Nest Learning Thermostat or the Nest Thermostat E, follow these steps:
If you have the Nest Thermostat 2020, the steps below are for you.
Also, please gather the power readings of your thermostat under Settings > Technical Info > Power (Battery, VOC, VIN, and lIN) if you have the Nest Learning Thermostat or the Nest Thermostat E and to Settings > Equipment > Power Info (VIN, IIN, PS-*) if you have the Nest Thermostat 2020.
Keep us posted. We're happy to help.
I appreciate your help, @HVAC.
Best,
Zoe

Hello folks,
Thanks for looking into this, Zoe.
@WI_Rainbow, in addition to what was shared above, disable the Home and Away Assist in the Nest app or in the actual thermostat itself. Also, if you have the Google Home app, check the routines and remove all thermostat actions available on it.
Let us know if that helps. We'd like to make sure everything is working.
Regards,
Mark
