Does the thermostat screen indicate that it's actively trying to turn on the heat (e.g., is there a flame icon, a "Heating" message, etc.)?

What type of heating system do you have (gas, electric, heat pump, etc.)?

When did the heating last work correctly?

Has the heating ever worked with this Nest thermostat?

If not, did the heating work with the thermostat that was installed previously?
