Nest thermostat not switching on

Hi All, My Nest thermostat is not starting. I have followed all the instructions available in the support page. While connected to USB, the green light flashes but nothings happen afterwards. If i keep it pressed for 10 seconds, then the flashing green light becomes red and again the green light flashes. It is just a blank screen without any response. On the nest app in mobile, it shows as offline. So i am not able to switch heating on/off. This is happening my boy dropped it on the floor. 

Please can someone help on this?

Also wondering if any thermostat can be connected to the Nest heatlink or the Nest one only? The Nest thermostats are pricey around £200 where as Hive are £60 in the event I have to replace it.

  1. Are you from North America or Europe? 
  2. What type of Nest Thermostat do you have? 
  3. When did the issue first occur?
  4. What is the make and model of your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment?
  5. Is the thermostat's display seated properly?
  6. Are all the wires of your thermostat seated firmly in its terminals (with no loose or exposed wires)?
  7. Does the thermostat charge with a USB cable?
