No hot water

In the summer our water worked fine when heating was off but now heating is on the hot water is not heating up. Any suggestions on how to fix this

1. Are you from North America or Europe? 
2. What type of Nest Thermostat do you have? 
3. What is the make and model of your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment?
4. Are all the wires of your thermostat seated firmly in its terminals (with no loose or exposed wires)?
