Nest thermostat offline

My nest thermostat keeps going offline. It loses the Wi-Fi when there’s no problem with the WiFi. It’s only a few months old and the batteries are fine. This is very frustrating when I want to hear my house before I get home and I can’t because my thermostat is offline. I have to wait until I get home to rest the thermostat.

I have the model 1.4. There’s 4 wires from the wall to the thermostat.

Apologies for the late reply. I wanted to follow up and see if I could be of any help. I found an article with some troubleshooting steps for when the device is showing offline. My thermostat is now showing offline in the app. I’ve contacted Google multiple times. Every time they fix it, it happens again. My only solution is to restart my WiFi using an app on my phone. I’m glad I didn’t pay a lot of money for this thermostat because it isn’t even with the money I did pay!

I did have an HVAC technician come out and install a 5th wire to my thermostat.

I still have this issue. I have figured out I can reset my WiFi to fix the problem, but that is only a temporary solution.

Thanks for posting here in Community, and I'm sorry for the late reply. Let's sort this out. 

 

Please check for possible wireless interference of your Nest Learning Thermostat.

 

  1. On your thermostat, press the ring to open the Quick View menu.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Look for Technical Info.
  4. Select Network.

 

Check for two numbers: ping speed and signal strength. If the ping isn’t available, you can check the Nest Weave connection instead by going to Settings, then Technical Info, and then Nest Weave. Then, check the status.
