I have 3 nest thermostats at our vacation home, and I make it simple. Manually turn to away when we have left to keep temps at eco. The thermostats randomly convert to comfort from eco - while no one is home, and Google home is set to “away”. Any ideas? I am frustrated as all 3 randomly do this, not at the same time and no relation to why. I am close to purchasing a different brand altogether side note - I have Nest learning thermostats at our primary home and never have this issue.

Hi EricNC,
Thanks for reaching out, I understand that your thermostats change to ECO or comfort automatically, I know that this can be frustrating when your thermostats do not work how you want. Probably you activated the auto schedule on your thermostats device. I recommend you try these steps on your thermostats.
I hopes this helps!
Regards,
Manuel.

Hi Manuel,
Thank you for your reply. We do not have an auto schedule in place. In looking at your suggested steps to trouble shoot - I have a settings, but no option for Nest Sense. I do have a presence setting option, but it does not take me to auto schedule. In presence setting, there is not any device, routine or feature turned on that would use presence sensing. I'd really like to learn why my thermostats randomly switch from eco to comfort.

Here is an example, the thermostat turned itself from ECO to cool at 73 degrees.

Hi Mauel,
I'd appreciate it if I could connect with someone from Google in the states. I have called Google and tried the chat services with Google about this same issue, and had some communication barriers that prevented any resolution. Do you have an escalation team I can connect with? It would be great if there is an escalation team I can speak with. The screen shot I attached earlier in our chat is from today. No one is home, and the thermostat changed from ECO cool setting at 78 degrees to comfort cooling at 73 - again, no one is home, all presence sensing is turned off. I am 80 miles from that home.

I just filled out the form. It happened again, thermostat was set to ECO with cool set to 78 degrees. I checked today and at 12:59 it turned itself to cool at 74. Its very frustrating when you are trying to conserve energy and Google Nest thermostat switches itself on for no reason.
