Hi I was having this issue too, could you check in your hot water settings on the nest whether the hot water schedule is turned on or off? you'll have to do this on the nest device itself. On mine it had been turned off for some reason -- not sure whether this was as a result of a software update or not.

I have checked, the hot water settings are on. In summary, the Hot water is not working despite in the Schedule of Nest App but working while I "Boost" it via App. Could it be due to wrong wiring from the Honeywell Valve to the Nest Heat link ?

Hi there! I'm sorry to hear that you encountered this issue, but I'm here to help! Could you please send me a picture of the Hot Water schedule? And as a response to your last question, if the boost works, it shouldn't be a problem with the Heat Link - Valve wiring.

Thankyou for the clarification Paul. It is bit of relief that wiring is okay.

I don't have permission to upload images on this chat. Hence sharing the link. There are two photos showing with Schedule and with Boost options.

Thank you for the pictures. Links seem to be fine now. From the screen where you can activate and deactivate the boost, please tap in the upper right corner on the cogwheel to go into the settings and take a screenshot of all the settings you have there.

Also, just to clarify, when it is scheduled to be on, does the app state that hot water schedule is active, in those hours?

I'm glad to hear it is working fine now. It may have been a communication issue between the app and thermostat and that is why it suddenly started properly functioning again. Is there anything else I can do to assist you?

Hi Alex, the issue seems to resolve on it own 🙂. Don't understand how did it happen.

Thankyou for your the clarification. Can I also ask few doubt

Like with Central heating I can setup a temperature and Nest will automatically start and stop heating when it falls below the temperature. Is there a way this can be done for Hot Water rather then scheduling or boosting it manually ?

Or can Nest work out an optimal schedule for hotwater based on my usage ?

The Hot Water needs a schedule, it won't work like the heating, and by this I mean it won't constantly keep the water at a certain temperature because it would be really inefficient, energy wise. The thermostat is only able to learn patterns and make an auto-schedule for heating, so the hot water will either need a schedule or you'll have to boost it manually.
