Nest thermostat shows wrong temperature

New thermostat shows wrong ambient air temperature by + 7 degrees. Tried factory reset in order to calibrate the internal sensor - no change. Sensor is working and fluctuates well with daily temperature changes; opening and closing of external  doors etc. Everything is working well except for an accurate measurement of house temperature. Any thoughts appreciated.

I have recently installed 2x thermostats, one is 10 degrees out and the other is 5 degrees out.
Not ideal when we have a new born, thinking of putting our Hive back in as this dangerous for us

Hi folks,

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear that your thermostats are showing incorrect ambient temperature. A few questions:

  1. Are you located in North America or Europe?
  2. What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  3. When was the thermostat installed?
  4. Where did you install your thermostat? In a room and on a wall or stand?
  5. Do you have other active Nest Thermostats? If yes, do they show the same issue?
  6. When did the issue start?

Also, if you have the Nest Learning Thermostat or the Nest Thermostat E, go to Settings > Technical Info > Network then check for its Signal strength value. The signal strength has a maximum value of 100. A signal strength of 75 is considered strong, while a value of 36 or lower is considered weak.

I'll look forward to your response.

Best,

Zoe
