I have a nest thermostat fitted in a property which I don’t start at much at the moment. Despite being in eco mode, and away is enabled, and the temperature set to 9°C it keeps on bringing itself on and easing the temperature according the the schedule. This looks like a software problem but I need to know how to stop this happening. It’s causing some eye watering bills with an electric boiler running when it’s not needed. Really losing my faith in nest as an installer now.

When I changed the schedule or deleted the schedule, the old settings kept reappearing. It was the app. I completely uninstalled it and reinstalled it and now it’s working fine.
I install lots of these for clients and given the number of failures I encounter (mostly communication / heatlink failures), I think the next fault will sadly result in me uninstalling the hardware and fitting some alternative. It’s such a shame as they are a really nice thermostat but just too unreliable.
