Hi,
just wanted to express my disappointment with the nest thermostat. I have just decided to replace my nest with a regular thermostat.
my original nest thermostat was replaced under warranty, now my second nest thermostat has died. Unfortunately it’s just outside of warranty and a replacement units is over $800 (in Australia). I am very disappointed with the product.
I would not recommend getting a nest thermostat they are a complete waste of money. Very unreliable.
anyone else had a similar poor experience?

I'm going to take a random stab in the dark and say it probably wasn't installed correctly. Multiple failures indicate an installation problem or an issue with the HVAC unit,

The installer is one of the largest hydronic heater companies in Melbourne aust. The service guy said it was the second nest unit he was replacing today. They have had multiple problems/ failures with them.

@Paul_R I did see the message but hadn’t got around to answering it.
I have not had a good experience with the nest thermostat. The first unit died and was replaced under warranty. The second unit died out side of warranty and was going to cost me over $700 aud to replace. I opted to go with a Siemens thermostat instead that was half the price. Based on the track record of the nest product I thought it was not wise to purchase another unit.
