Hi,
My HVAC system has a AC condensor & electric furnance. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a Heat Pump. Currently I'm using EM heat to warm the house. I tried to install Nest Learning thermostat. Althought I matched the wires with the old thermostat I got the error e78 "W2-aux wire by itself". Without a heat pump would it still be possible to do the wiring without any errors and use EM Heat only in Nest thermostat?

Hi kaniJustin,
Thanks for posting here in the Community forum and for showing interest in our Nest Thermostats. If your HVAC system does not have a heat pump and you are using electric heat (EM heat) to warm your house, it is still possible to install and use a Nest Learning Thermostat. However, the wiring configuration may be different from what you had with your previous thermostat, and you may need to adjust the settings on the Nest Thermostat accordingly. Are you located in North America or Europe? What is the make and model of your HVAC system? And is your system a heat pump or a conventional split type?
I'll look forward to your response.
Best,
Zoe

Hi Zoe,
I'm sorry for my delayed response! Yes, I'm in North America, in Texas.
Make: Goodman company
Model: VSC130481AA
Serial No: 0908245403
It is a regular central air conditioner unit with Electric furnance. I hope you will be able to help me with wiring!
Thank you,
Kani
