Nest thermostat wont find network

Dursell

Thermostat searches for networks but won't find any. There's multiple networks available. Factory resets have been done, network resets, many restarts, nothing ..

Hello Dursell,

I understand that you're having trouble connecting to your Wi-Fi network. I'm here to help you get back online. I'd like to confirm: do you have any error messages on your Nest thermostat when you try to connect? Does it show other networks available in your area? Is the other Nest device still connected to the WiFi?

I look forward to your response.

Best,
Edmond

There are no error messages. When I set it to find networks it does not find any at all. There are 4 wireless networks visible and available in the room.

Hello @Dursell -- I'm glad I found this thread.   I'm experiencing same issue and it appears to be hardware problem.

My 3rd gen NEST is unable to see available networks.   It's like the WLAN module just died in device.

I do have my older 2nd Gen NEST and should install to prove hardware failure.

I'll have to brave the gauntlet of tier1 off-shore support ... <ack>

Hello @EdmondB -- similar to others, The WLAN module in my 3rd Gen NEST appears to have died.

After working correctly for couple months, the device now unable to see ANY available WLAN networks.  My Pixel6 shows approximately twenty available wireless networks at location of NEST thermo.   Yet my NEST sees nothing.   I have reset, restarted, etc.

I'm not getting any error messages. Trying to connect but can't find network. All other devices are connected. Hotspot from phone doesn't work either.

my update from another THREAD HERE.

I'm cautiously optimistic on replacement.    I was told they are currently out of stock for replacements.   maybe the new batch will be more reliable?
