Just moved into a house that had nest already installed, I've downloaded the app to set it up but I can't link up the thermostat to my app as it is registered with the old home owner. Would reseting the thermostat to factory settings resolve this?

I did what David had suggested and it all worked out perfectly, I was able to get the app linked up and connected to my account.
