No sir.  But I’ve been out of town.  I just don’t think my A/C works with this nest.

Hi Captmercer,

Do you mind me asking which type of Nest Thermostat you own? Have you tried lowering the temperature to see if the device cools? Please let me know, as I want to make sure you are able to cool your home.

Best regards,

Jake

Hello not sure cause I’m not home. But I can lower temp.  But bottom line is there is no cool option.  If I lower then heat just doesn’t come on.  Thx

Hey Captmercer,

When you are home next, would you mind checking your settings. You should see temperature mode. Once selected, it should give you the option to change it from heat to cool. Let me know if you have any trouble seeing that.

Best regards,

Jake

Hello folks,

I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Thanks for the help here, Jake.

@Captmercer, the reason why there's no cooling option in the temperature mode is that either there is no wire connected to the Y/Y1 terminal or there is but the tab isn't pushed down to hold the wire. Please check your thermostat's base and inspect the cooling wire to ensure it is properly connected.

Keep me posted on how it goes.

Regards,

Mark

Hi Captmercer,

Giving this a friendly bump. Have you managed to inspect your Nest Thermostat's base? I'd be glad to hear from you — I'd like to make sure everything is working.

Best,
Mark
