Nest thermostat

My Nest thermostat doesn’t stick to the schedule I’ve created. It turns on between an hour and an hour 1/2 before the schedule, then will turn off after an hour so I have to turn up the temp more for it to re engage. Does anyone know why this is? It’s getting a bit frustrating and surely isn’t good for me to keep turning it up. Thanks!

Hi PhoebeRose,

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear that your thermostat doesn’t stick to the schedule you've created. Are you located in North America or Europe? What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?

Nest Thermostats have a learning feature that adapts to users' patterns and preferences over time. They may not fully adjust to your desired schedule yet, but with more time, it should start adhering more accurately. The "Early-On" feature aims to reach the desired temperature at the scheduled time, compensating for temperature differentials in the house. Ensure the thermostat is installed in an optimal location, away from drafts, direct sunlight, and heat sources or windows that could affect its performance and adherence to the schedule. Manually adjusting the temperature outside of the scheduled settings may override the schedule temporarily, but it will resume following the schedule at the next scheduled time block. Check if any manual adjustments have affected the thermostat's behavior. Unstable Wi-Fi connectivity or issues with the Nest servers may also impact the thermostat's ability to adhere to the schedule. Ensure a stable internet connection and check for reported outages or connectivity issues with the Nest service.

Keep us posted.

Best,

Zoe
