Nest thermostat

I am trying to install a nest thermostat E. I do not have a c wire. this thermostat worked for a lot of years in my son's home. my problem is that when It cycles on in cool mode it doesn't always  start the furnace blower motor. the compressor and fan always starts. I made it into a dumb thermostat. any help would be appreciated

Are you sure you have the Nest Thermostat E? Those are only sold through a Nest Pro. What does it look like?

Did you reset it to Factory Default before you installed it on your system?

You might need the Google Nest Power Connector.
