Trying to install 4 nest thermostats in my home , I currently have the original Trane thermostats  and heat pumps and furnace blower unit, The wires are as follows both at the thermostat and at the furnace blower fan,

  • (R is red,
  • W2/X2 is black jumper to->W is white,
  • Y is yellow,
  • G is green,
  • O is orange, is
  • B is blue,( keep in mind B is not C,  B is on B at the blower fan and C is empty,)
  •
  • Sometimes B is the C wire on the Trane brand unit but I'm sure the B is truly B which is a reversing valve and the O is another reversing valve im thinking but im not sure but there is a White W jump to W2 which is heat  and a Yellow which is AC.
  • I saw the C screw empty at the furnace panel where all the thermostat wires are pulled and terminated
  •  I have a Trane HVAC system Gas furnace with heat pumps , 4 Thermostats throughout the home Thank you in advance , I do have an extra black wire at each thermostat and at the furnace blower I can land at the C screw on the thermostats and at the fan blower as well. Please help and Thanks again in advance20230908_133724.jpg

Hello Messario,

Thanks for reaching out. You can cover the blue wire with electrical tape and tuck it inside the hole. No need for the jumper wire (black wire), the base of the Nest Thermostat has an internal jumper.

you could try our compatibility checker to see if your current system is compatible with the Nest Thermostat.

Cheers,

Renz
