Nest thermostats show in Google Home app but not in the Nest app for same google account

Hey, all!

Our business setup 5 Nest Thermostat E devices about a year ago. At the time, we set up the devices with a Google Home account that we made for the thermostats (it is setup as a personal account).

We want to make it easier for staff to control the thermostats from their computers. We have automations made for most needs, but the controls on home.nest.com would be ideal.

The problem: our Nest account doesn't seem to be connected properly to the Home account, even though both were set up with the same "login with Google" information. I've tried working around the issue by logging into Nest by email, but it seems the account cannot be accessed that way—even the "Forgot Password" option does not send a reset link.

All the troubleshooting I've found so far seems to be for the opposite problem and I'm at a loss. I greatly appreciate your insights so we can connect these accounts properly!

Update:

I chatted with Google customer service today. Once I sent them the serial numbers of our thermostats, they informed me that only Nest thermostat 3rd gen and Nest thermostat E can be controlled by the Nest app. I was also mistaken on what model we have.

Unfortunately, I'll have to set up an automation for every temperature scenario our staff may have. Not ideal, but not the end of the world, either.
