I saw a similar post from someone else with no resolution, but it was closed so I’m creating a new post. We’ve had our Nest 3rd gen since 2018 and it’s been great. Within the past week or two, we noticed that the AC compressor unit shuts off abruptly and then starts up again within a few seconds and repeats this indefinitely. This is very bad on the compressor. I discussed with Nest Thermostat Support for a while, provided pictures of my C wire and other wires, several screenshots of our schedule, settings, and even did a full factory reset and it’s still happening. We change out our filter regularly and clean our drainline each month. Our house is now over 80 degrees. Please fix this. 😞

After triaging with senior level support, we found that the issue didn’t occur with fan or heating. Also, once the blue C grousing wire was disconnected and tucked away, the issue stopped happening. It’s been running fine since. We will need an HVAC tech to come out and ensure the grounding wire is…grounded well.
