Nest will turn heat on randomly while in cool

Hello! We bought a home that has a nest. We are obviously in spring/summer in GA so heating is off the table.

but the issue is that the heating will kick on randomly while set at 70 degrees. Weve noticed it at 4pm mainly because we’ve been upstairs at that time but don’t know if it happens throughout the day. We don’t want the heating to kick on at ANY point. 

trying to figure out if this is a known issue or ways to resolve it.

double check your system mode and make sure it is set to cooling and not to the combination heat and cool mode.

if you are indeed in cooling mode only and your heat is coming on then we have to do further investigation at the actual air  handler/furnace and verify that there’s an actual signal calling for heating coming from the thermostat.
