Nest wiring question

Smcdonald

Hi there!

I was trying to install a nest Thermostat in my apartment. I wanted to confirm some wiring questions. My current Thermostat has a O wire but not a B wire. I wanted to make sure I could plug it into the O/B or not. How should I set the Nest up with my current wiring?

Hey Smcdonald,

Glad to be of help. Taking a closer look at the pictures you sent, I am curious on if your O wire is actually your heat wire (W wire). Do you happen to know if you can review your system control board at all? Nest Thermostats are not compatible with jumper wires, so you will want to remove the jumper from Y to W. I found a link with more details on system wires. Please let me know if that helps out.

Best regards,

Jake
