Nest won't go out of Eco mode

I have a Nest Learning Thermostat that is behaving strangely.  I was trying to take it out of Eco to have it start heating the house before a winter storm.  I stopped Eco and the app displayed that the heat was on and was going to take 2 hours to heat to the target.  I checked this morning and it still showed heating, but is still at the former Eco temp.  The thermostat is in Wisconsin and I am in Florida, so I can't physically see what is happening at the house.  I've tried this from my iPhone app and a PC browser.  Thoughts?

Hi svowels,

Uh-oh! I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Learning Thermostat is not responding as expected and you're unable to physically access it. It's important to note that without physically accessing the thermostat or the property, troubleshooting can be challenging. If the issue is critical and impacts the comfort or safety of the property, it is necessary for you or someone else to physically inspect and address the problem. However, if it happens that you're now able to access the thermostat or have it accessed by someone you know, try these:

  1. Ensure that the thermostat has a stable Wi-Fi connection. A loss of Wi-Fi connectivity can prevent the thermostat from receiving commands and updates. If possible, ask someone at the location to check the Wi-Fi connection and confirm that it is working properly.
  2. Restart the thermostat itself by looking for an option to restart the thermostat on its settings. This can help reset any temporary glitches or issues.
  3. Double-check the settings in the Nest app or thermostat to ensure that the thermostat is not in a specific mode or schedule that may be preventing it from heating properly. Make sure the target temperature and schedule settings are correctly configured.
  4. Verify that the thermostat has a stable power supply. If the battery level is low or the thermostat is not receiving power from the HVAC system or the C-wire, it may not function correctly. Check the power supply and ensure it is properly connected.
  5. It's possible that there may be an issue with the heating system itself. Check if the heating system is running and if there are any error messages or indicators on the system or the thermostat itself.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe
