New Home with 3 Google Nest Thermostats installed, AT&T Uverse Wifi - Home App Doesn't Discover Them

Hi, I've scoured the forum and have tried (repeatedly) following the troubleshooting guidance but to no avail.

And then it leads me down a path to scan the QR code and then physically install the device but it's already installed and running (I guess in a manual / disconnected mode since it's functioning.)

What are the causes for the Google Home app to not discover the thermostat?

thanks,

having the same issues, does, does your furnace run at all?

Yes.  The furnaces seem to be running fine and I’m able to manually adjust.

Which Nest thermostats do you have and how are they wired?

Where do you have your Wifi located in relation to the thermostats?

Hello folks,

I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

For the Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E, the setup must be in the Nest app, and for the Nest Thermostat 2020, it would be in the Google Home app. To isolate, are they showing connected to an account in the settings? If so, the thermostats might be linked to a different account, and an account connection reset is needed.

For the Nest Thermostat 2020:

  1. Perform a factory data reset.
    1. This will remove all the previous information.
  2. Once ready, go to the Google Home app to add the thermostat.

For the Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E:

  1. Go to Settings > Reset > Account Connection > Reset.
    1. This will be removed from the connected account, including the Wi-Fi network.
  2. Once refreshed. Reconnect it back to the "Network" settings.
  3. Proceed by adding it back in the Nest app.

Thanks for the assistance here, @Patrick_Caezza.

Please let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Mark
