New Nest learning thermostat not cooling

Mag26
Community Member

We installed a learning thermostat with our Lennox HVAC. After entering the settings we tested the thermostat on 'cooling' but the HVAC only provided warm air.

We attached all 6 wires according to the diagram.

Any advice?

Thanks!

@Mag26

Try this wiring.

Yellow - Y to Y1

Green - G to G

Blue - C to C

White - W2 to W2

Orange - W to W1

Red - R to Rc

Ensure that the bare copper ends are straight, shiny, and long enough to be fully inserted into each terminal.

Here is the wiring for the Nest. Do you have any other advice to solve the issue?

@Mag26

Move the red wire from Rh to Rc.

Do a reset to factory defaults and see what happens.

You can also look in the furnace/air handler and verify where each thermostat wire is connected.

We did exactly what you suggested but unfortunately the AC still blows warm air on the cool setting.

@Mag26, thanks for posting here in the Community forum, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Can you help me with your Nest Learning Thermostat's power reading?

  1. To open the Quick View menu, press the thermostat’s ring.
  2. Choose Settings.
  3. Turn the ring to highlight Technical Info then press the ring to select it.
  4. Select Power.
