For our vacation home that was recently built, I purchased 3 nest thermostats and the 9 smoke/CO2 alarms. The smoke alarms had to be set up in the Nest app, and when I tried to set up the new thermostats in the nest app, it wouldn’t work. I had to use the Google home app to set up the thermostats. Now I have to switch between the Google home to view thermostats and Nest app for smoke alarm detection. I’d like to have everything on one app, am I missing something? The “structure” is correct. When I click away on Google home app, it shows away in the a nest app.

The Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E get installed in the Google Nest app (and then should appear automatically in the Google Home app), while the Nest Thermostat gets installed in the Google Home app and does NOT appear in the Google Nest app. It's all part of Google Nest's 2-app strategy.

Thanks for clarifying/confirming. I am going to see if I can return these 3 thermostats and find the E to get. I do not need a learning thermostat.
I appreciate your reply. Thank you.

Hi Lance
thank you for connecting here. I’ll reach out to the Nest Help Center to confirm, but it sounds like I need to purchased the Nest Thermostat E in order to see them in the Nest app. Disappointed the newest ones will not show in both the Google home and Nest apps.
thank you.
