Nest thermostat is brand new I wired products correctly.  Changed batteries and I know my wifi password.  Still no connection.  Just says something went wrong.

I am having a similar issue with my new thermostat.  I had no issue setting up the nest hub just 5 minutes ago but customer service said there is an issue with their servers and it should be resolved in 2 hours.

Hi folks,

Thanks for posting ― let's get this sorted out.

A few questions: what Nest Thermostat do you have? Check this link to know more. Since when has this been happening? Also, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Best,
Mel

I have tried multiple times to connect. This is the initial setup. After "Connecting - Looking for Nest Thermostat" times out I get a message ""Couldn't connect - You may need to reset". Any suggestions? KK

Hello there,

I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

@Mhalla, could you provide a rundown of all the steps you've tried? Also, are you getting any messages or reports when it fails?

@KJKelNJ, It appears that you have the Nest Thermostat (2020) based on the message you're getting. Going over these steps here might help:

  1. Remove the display from its base.
  2. Take out the batteries for at least 3 minutes to refresh before plugging them back in and onto the base.
  3. Open the Google Home app and create a new home.
  4. Proceed by adding the thermostat again.

Please let me know if that helps, or if the issue still persists.

Regards,

Mark
