New nest help

I just took my Nest out of the box and have it plugged in charging, but no lights. Does this just mean it's so dead that it's not displaying a colored light? Thanks!

Hello Maillady00,

Thanks for reaching out. Your thermostat's battery might be dead because it was locked in storage for a long period of time. Let's see what's going on.

Please give these steps a try:

  1. Charge the thermostat display for an hour.
  2. Use a working USB charger and try a different power outlet.
  3. To ensure that the cable is working, try connecting it to a phone or computer.
  4. After an hour of charging. Make sure that the power from your equipment is on at the breaker box.
  5. Inspect the thermostat display to see if any connector pins are bent.
  6. Ensure that the wires are connected properly.
  7. Check for any wiring reports.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Mark

Hey there,

I'm checking back in. Were you able to do the steps above? I'd be glad to hear from you; I'd like to make sure everything is working.

Thanks,

Mark
