No code or qr code on the Nest

Hi, I recently moved into a new place that has Nest installed. However, there is no QR code or 6 digit code to set up the thermostat with the Google home app.

Please advise.

I'm having this same issue, just moved in, found a Thermostat installed and, in my case I can't take it out from the wall.

Lets see the experts if there is any other way to link it to my app.

I have a similar, but slightly different problem. 

I've had a Nest thermostat in my home since we moved in, ten years ago. Since September 2013 the Nest app I use is no longer supported by Google.

I am invited to migrate to the Google Home instead... but to set it up I seemingly require a six-digit Setup Code. I read that it might be printed on the rear of the unit, but I don't want to disconnect a functional unit if I can avoid it.

How can I obtain the setup code without having to dismantle the Nest Thermostat?

Hi everyone!

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by missing codes during your device setup.

To ensure a seamless connection between your Nest thermostat and our app it is necessary the QR or Entry Key information about the device to be able to link with the app.

Now, depending on your Nest thermostat model, finding this code might be a bit different:

With the Nest Thermostat E and Nest Learning Thermostat Just head over to the "Nest App" option within your thermostat settings, and you'll find the QR code or Entry Key waiting for you.

And with the Nest Thermostat (2020 model) the code you need might be hiding on the back of the thermostat base. You might need to carefully detach the display unit from the base to access it. But don't worry, it's easy to put back together!
