No hot water

We can get hot water only by using the Nest Heat Link in manual override; which means our central heating kicks in as well;  There is no option to manually override for hot water only!

Nest provided a new Heat Link which the Electrician installed. After a lengthy call to Nest support he reset the thermostat but the same problem continues.

The “continuity test” requested by Google Nest showed no errors

We have a 2 year old Worcester Bosch conventional boiler.

Nest support suggested calling a NEST PRO engineer but I’d have to pay & reclaim.

Any constructive ideas appreciated

Hi @TheNavigator,

I understand how frustrating it must be to have limited control over your hot water system. It sounds like you've already taken some steps to troubleshoot the issue, but the problem persists. Let's work together to find a solution.

To better understand the situation, could you please clarify a few points:

  • Specific Nest Thermostat Model: Which Nest Thermostat model do you have?
  • Boiler Type: Is your Worcester Bosch boiler a combi boiler or a separate hot water tank?
  • Heat Link Behavior: Does the Heat Link indicator light show any specific colors or patterns when you try to use it for hot water only?

Additionally, have you tried contacting your boiler manufacturer (Worcester Bosch) for any specific guidance on compatibility with the Nest Heat Link? They might have insights into potential issues or workarounds.

I'm here to help you find a solution. Please feel free to share any additional details that might be relevant.

Regards,

Mario.
