No nest entry key on nest thermostat

Have gone through install twice.  Can not get entry key from nest thermostat.  So I do not see thermostat in nest, only in Google home

Never mind.  Was not aware the entry level google Nest will only work with Google home app, will not work with Nest app.  Seems counter intuitive given the app name is Nest.
