No power issue with nest thermostat

My Next thermostat was working fine for a year or so. Then suddenly I get a no power warning. It would intermittently start again and work fine for a few days then no power again. I checked all the wires, did a factory reset and not it says all of the wires are undetected. I had an HVAC technician come out and he couldn't figure it out. Everything is wired correctly and functioning just not the thermostat. I've seen many posts of others having the same issue but no resolve.

I'm having the same problem.  There is 24 volts at C wire, set up says there isn't.   I've reconnected it several times.  I received an email saying I need a replacement Thermostat,  How do I get one???

Hi there!

Thanks for reaching out to the community about your Nest Thermostat. We understand it can be frustrating when your thermostat doesn't recognize the wiring. Don't worry, let's see if these troubleshooting steps can help:

Important Safety Note: Before you begin, always turn off the power to your Nest Thermostat at the breaker box.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Power Off and Remove Display: Turn off the power at the breaker box and carefully remove the Nest Thermostat display from the base.
  2. Inspect Wiring: One by one, check each wire. They should be clean, straight, and have about ⅓ to ½ inch of exposed wire at the end.
  3. Repair Damaged Wires (if necessary): If any wire is damaged, carefully cut and re-strip about ⅓ to ½ inch of insulation from the end.
  4. Reinsert Wires: Carefully reinsert each wire into its designated terminal on the base, ensuring the connector button stays depressed while inserting. Repeat this for all wires.
  5. Reattach Display and Restore Power: Firmly reattach the display to the base until it clicks securely into place. Then, turn the power back on at the breaker box.

If you've completed these steps and your Nest Thermostat still doesn't recognize the wiring, please contact our specialist team for further assistance. They can help diagnose the problem and find a solution.

We'll be happy to help you get your Nest Thermostat functioning properly again. Feel free to keep us updated on the situation.

Best regards,

Douglas

This did not work. Thermostat still is not getting power so once the manual charge runs out that I have to do every single day to cool off the house in the afternoon, we again have no thermostat which means no air conditioner!
