Hi,

my nest 2nd gen thermostat has lost connection error h1. I’ve tried moving it closer to the heat link and still it won’t connect.

When I press & release the heat link button it flashes orange? Can’t seem to find details of this colour light anywhere as most instructions say it should flag yellow and blue or yellow and green?

Hi there! Sorry to hear about this, but I'll do my best to assist you. Please follow these steps and let us know afterwards how it goes:

Reset the display and Heat Link:
1. Remove the display from the base.
2. Restart the display (by pressing on it for 10 to 15 seconds until it turns off.)
3. Restart the Heat Link. (press the Heat Link's button for about 30 seconds - 1 minute then release it.)
The 2nd gen Heat Link's light will alternate yellow/green when it's in pairing mode after performing the reset. The display needs to be pressed again after it shuts down in order for the restart sequence to be completed.
4. When prompted, put the display back on the base.

5. Then select "Reset pairing" and see if it connects.

Thank you for your reply. I tried all of the above instructions to no avail.  The heat link just displayed an orange light.

in the end - and my last resort I unplugged the heat link to disconnected it from electricity and managed to reset it this way. When plugged back in we then saw alternating green/yellow light and thermostat paired.

I'm glad to hear that it eventually got sorted. Would there be anything else that I can assist you with?
