Outside temperature not correct

Sam94550

Both of my thermostats stopped showing correct outside temperature.  It shows correctly in the nest app.

I have disconnected and reconnected both to the nest app. Still incorrect.

Wifi connected.

Both show same incorrect temperature.

Hi Sam94550,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand your frustration that both of your Nest Thermostats are not displaying the correct outside temperature. Let's work together for a solution.

To help me troubleshoot this effectively, could you please provide some more information?

  • What specific models of Nest Thermostats are you using? (e.g., Nest Thermostat, Nest Learning Thermostat, Nest Thermostat E)

  • When were your Nest Thermostats installed?

  • Where are your thermostats installed? (e.g., in the living room, on an interior wall)

  • When did you first notice the incorrect outside temperature readings?

  • How much does the outside temperature displayed on the Nest Thermostat differ from the actual temperature shown on another reliable thermometer or weather source?

  • Is the incorrect temperature displayed continuously, or does it occur under specific conditions?

  • Have you made any recent changes to your HVAC system (e.g., service, filter replacement, system upgrades)?

In addition, please check the following:

  • Nest Thermostat Network Connection: Go to Settings > Technical Info > Network on your Nest Thermostat. Note the signal strength value. A weak signal can sometimes affect weather data retrieval.

I look forward to hearing from you and assisting you further.

Regards,

Kevin
