Hi. I'm trying to migrate my Nest Thermostat account to Google. When I go to nest app on thermostat their no passcode is showing  it just says "already connected to an account". How do I get a new passcode?

Do you login to the Nest app using the "Sign in with Nest" link or the "Sign in with Google" button?

Hi. When I open Nest app it says 'add product'. I asks for QR Code on thermostat (no problem). It then asks for passcode. When I access Nest App on thermostat it says "already connected to account" with access to passcode available.

The reason I ask how you login is because that lets me know whether you're using a Nest account or Google account, as use of the Google Home app requires a Google account. If you didn't login to the Nest app using the "Sign in with Google" button, you'll need to first migrate your account.

FAQs about accounts for the Nest app - Google Nest Help

If you're already using a Google account, or after migrating, when you install a Nest Learning Thermostat (1st, 2nd, or 3rd gen) or the Nest Thermostat E in the Nest app, the thermostat should automatically appear in the Google Home app if you’re using the same account in both apps, using the same home structure, and have assigned the thermostat to a room in the Nest app. If any of that isn’t true, you’ll need to go ahead and fix those issues.

If all of those things are true, try these steps:

  1. Open the Nest app and follow the “Create another home in the Nest app” steps linked below to create a new temporary home structure:
Manage homes and products with the Nest app - Google Nest Help
  2. Open the Google Home app, find and delete the home structure you just created by following the “Delete a home” steps linked below:
Share a home and devices in the Google Home app - Google Nest Help

This forces the two apps to sync and your thermostat should now appear in the Google Home app.
