My schedule is set to 20c at 6pm…..today preheating began at 2pm and has reached 20 by 3.15pm……much too early. Why is it so poor at maintaining the schedule?

Hi Geoff27,
Thanks for reaching out and we're sorry for the delay.
Your Nest Thermostat can automatically adjust to your most comfortable temperature based on your previous changes. It's possible that what you're experiencing is about it. You could disable the auto-schedule and observe your thermostat behavior for a few days.
Let me know how it goes by replying to this thread.
Regards,
Ryan

different question…..we have the option set so that the nest identifies we are out of the house and sets the ECO mode ….which is good. When we decided to increase the temperature because we were travelling home….shortly afterwards the thermostat recognised we were still out and switched back to ECO…..is there a ‘best’ way to avoid that behaviour?

I did turnoff the learning option, it also seems better in the warmer weather. Maybe the volatility in the outside temperature didn’t help….I can see that being an issue
