Unable to find 7 digit key

I also can't find this mystery entry code. I'm trying to get my Nest thermostat, which previously worked FLAWLESSLY with Alexa and my app, to work again after the so-called "merge" of Nest and Google Home (more like a HIJACKING of Nest by GH!!!!) . Am SO angry. Have wasted 90 minutes with no luck. Step 7 above is impossible! When I scan the device's QR code and then go to the Nest app setting on the device, there is no option to "select QR code" let alone scan the non-existent code, and the Continue without scanning option leads to a dead end. Restarting did no good. Restarting Wifi did no good. This is absurd.

Hi @surfgal, I moved your reply to it's own topic as it's not related to the issue you replied to and this will help us support you better. 

It might be best to start with why are you looking for the entry code? From reading your post, it sounds like your thermostat is already setup? The reason I ask is because the entry code is only used during setup. Can you no longer see your thermostat in the Nest app?
