STOP CHANGING MY TEMPERATURE SETTINGS

mmac314

This stupid thermostat won't follow the schedule I put in. Every freaking year this stupid thing starts ignoring the schedule I've made and changes to warmer temperatures. I AM NOT IN ANY OF YOUR STUPID PROGRAMS. I had them all ended and canceled a long time ago, and I've made sure to REFUSE your stupid program offers so you will LEAVE MY THERMOSTAT ALONE.

WHY IS THIS STUPID THING NOT FOLLOWING THE SCHEDULE?! WHY WON'T GOOGLE JUST LEAVE ME ALONE?!?!

I seriously hate that Google won't just LEAVE ME ALONE.

Hi mmac314,

Thanks for posting in the community! It's completely understandable to feel annoyed when your Nest thermostat isn't following its schedule, especially after you've put effort into managing your settings. I'm here to help you get it working exactly as you want.
To help me figure out what's going on, please provide a few more details:

  • Which Nest thermostat model do you have? If you're not sure, this article can help: How to tell which Nest thermostat you have.
  • What specific temperatures and times is your thermostat changing to, compared to your set schedule? For example, if your schedule says 68°F at 8 AM, what temperature is it actually going to?
  • Does the issue happen at specific times, or does it seem random?
  • Is it changing to warmer temperatures when you're home, away, or both?
  • When you see a change, do any specific messages or icons appear on the thermostat display (like 'Away,' 'Eco,' a leaf icon, a person icon, or 'Learning')?
  • Is Home/Away Assist currently enabled or disabled?
  • Is Auto-Schedule (the 'Learning' feature) currently enabled or disabled?
  • Are Nest Leaf optimizations enabled or disabled?
  • (If applicable to your model) Is Early On enabled or disabled?
  • Do you have any other Nest Temperature Sensors or Google Home devices linked to this thermostat? If so, where are they located?

Has anyone else with access to the Nest/Google Home account been interacting with the thermostat or app?
While I await your answers, please restart your thermostat. Just unplug the thermostat for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in. These steps often resolve minor glitches.
Your patience and answers will help me investigate this situation thoroughly and find a solution for you. I look forward to your response.

Regards,

Humberto
