Seasonal Savings notification during a blizzard

It’s 12/23/22 and it’s -10F right now In Minnesota.  I woke this morning to our house at 60F.  The nest is greeting me with a Seasonal Savings message notifying me that it has adjusted my schedule settings without the option to opt out.  (“OK” and “learn more” were my only options).  This is just the most recent unwanted adjustment.  This previous week my Nest has been resetting us to Eco mode inexplicably every hour or so even when we are home.  The directions to turn off seasonal savings in this support forum are incorrect or out of date.  There is no option to turn off or opt-out in the history section.

We are not part of any energy saving program with our energy provider so why does Google think it’s in my best interest to adjust my heat to 60F?  My theory is this country-wide cold snap is why.  My question is to google is what incentives are you receiving by messing with people’s heat?  Your actions are lacking transparency.

I have also been having this issue, with the app showing that the heater was off the ENTIRETY of Thursday 12/22. We noticed this at about 12:30am today 12/23, and have been trying to stop it from seemingly just straight up turning off our hearing system. 60° is not an acceptable temperature when it's currently -20 ish outside, not for us and not for our pets. Everything that came up as a "fix" said I have to go to the Leaf setting specifically in the Nest app, which we weren't using, and shut it off there. We've been using them Google Home app with no problems as the sole app up until now and in my effort to set up the nest app it just takes me to "Choose the number that matches your thermostats display. Follow the instructions on the display to find it" and then just freezes there.

Seriously not an okay situation.

The link you referenced is incorrect.  The opt in did not occur, google just did it.
