Sensor not connecting to thermostat

I just installed a new 4th Generation Nest thermostat. I pulled the tape out of the sensor but the sensor won’t connect to the thermostat, even when it’s right next to it. Any idea why the sensor isn’t connecting? Thanks!

Hi @thepiranha

The sensor doesn't connect to your thermostat directly, you need to set up the sensor with the Google Home app.

Sometimes a quick reset of both the thermostat and sensor helps also make sure Bluetooth is active and the firmware’s up to date. Had a similar pairing issue once while setting up Null’s Brawl, and a simple restart surprisingly fixed it there too.

Had a similar connection issue once — not with a thermostat but while setting up summertime saga apk, and a simple restart fixed it there too. Try restarting both the thermostat and the sensor, then reconnect through the Google Home app — it often helps refresh the pairing.
