Setting the timings on a Nest Learning Thermostat

Does anyone know where I can find a set of simple instructions so that I can set my thermostat to come on and off when I want it to? Currently, I am at work and my home is empty yet the nest has turned the heating on in an empty house. I tried entering the times on the schedule and I have 4 orange dots on each day. When I woke this morning the heating was off. I'm sure it is simple I just cannot find a straightforward article that tells me how to do this.

Hi Jake,

I'm afraid I have still been unable to find any instructions on how to use my new thermostat. I'm looking for a simple set of easy to follow instructions on how to set this up. The schedule feature doesn't appear to work. I can get the orange dots but nothing happens. Last night I got it into Eco Mode, which meant it didn't come on. I've got the hot water timing working, but cannot find some instructions for the heat that are easy to follow. I also have a problem with the App. Whenever I try to use it, it logs out after about 15 seconds. I got it from the Apple Appstore and I use an iPhone XR which is up to date.

Does Google publish anywhere a set of simple-to-follow instructions on how to set up the heat function on my new thermostat? There are pages and pages of links about the features but I can't find simple starting instructions.
