Shocking in the lack of capabilities

I recently installed two Nest Thermostat-1.4 to replace two Honeywell units I have had for years. They were working perfectly. But I replaced them with the Nest, thinking they would be more technically sophisticated. I opened a case with Google and called their support number and I was shocked by the lack of features in these units.

  1. The biggest is lack of programmability. Most utility companies have different economy hours for summer and winter.  There is no way to create separate schedules for heating and cooling.  When the cool season pricing started from Nov. 1, I had to wipe out by summer schedule and re-program a different schedule for winter. I guess I will have to keep doing this nonsense every 6 months. For example, there is no way to program this...  SRP Time-of-Use (TOU) Price Plan | SRP (srpnet.com)
  2. Programming 6 holidays for weekend schedule is obviously way beyond the capability of Google Nest developers.  - my question below.

Also how do I program the 6 holidays to have the weekend schedule per the SRP Time-of-Use plan? Is the Nest smart enough to know what days in subsequent years 2023, 2024 these days would fall?   I want to program both my Nest thermostats to exactly follow the SRP TOU price plan to save me maximum money.
  3. Presence Sensing. So far I only see my phone added to the Google home app.  How will it detect presence of others?  What should be the behavior when it detects presence of others? - Tech support answered this by saying the Nest "detects" people presence?? Huh?? They sense body heat??
  4. The last one is more a shortcoming of the Google Home app.  Sharing – household data – I am able to add family members who have gmail accounts. But I unable to invite others who use other email providers.   Unable to “Invite” these folks to the Household option to “People in this home”
