Should the R (white) wire from a Nest Power Connector be connected to a RA832A1066 upper or lower T?

Should the R (white) wire from a Nest Power Connector be connected to a RA832A1066 upper or lower T terminal?

Background:
  1. The RA832A1066 does not have a C terminal, as shown in Figure 3:
  2. The instructions in Nest Power Connector Pro Installation Guide (https://goo.gle/44LQaGL) on Installation section 6.D are to:
    1. (page 10) Remove the Nest Power Connector jumper.
    2. (page 11)  Wire an external transformer C wire to the Nest Power Connector C wire.
    3. Wire into a 3-way splice the external transformer R wire, the Nest Power Connector R (grey) wire and the thermostat R wire.
    4. Wire the Nest Power Connector R (white) wire to “R/T2”.
  3. However, the RA832A1066 does not have a “R/T2” terminal, only two “T” terminals, as shown in the above linked pdf.
  4. The voltage across the RA832A1066 two T terminals is about 24.9 VAC
  5. The voltage from the upper T terminal to ground is about 12 VAC:
  6. The voltage from the lower T terminal to ground is about 9 VAC

Kindly let me know if there are any questions or concerns,

Harold

Hi @HaroldB,

Thanks for posting here in the community. I understand your concern about Nest Power Connector R wire being connected to a T terminal. I appreciate the information provided. I'm happy to help!

The Nest Power Connector is specifically designed to work with Nest thermostats and requires a C-terminal for proper operation. If your system doesn't have a C-terminal, the best option is to contact a Nest Pro. They can assess your system and provide tailored advice on potential solutions.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards,

Melany
