Hi there- We just sold our condo that had a Nest Thermostat. We left the thermostat but I am still receiving the home energy reports. How do I migrate the account to the new homeowner? (I do not have the Nest app and not ever sure I did; we have always controlled the thermostat manually.)
Thank you- Lauren

Hi LaurenS1,
Thank you for posting in the community! I understand that you have the Nest app associated with your account and you want the new homeowner to take control of the Nest Thermostat in order for you to stop receiving the home energy reports.
I’m glad to assist you with this. In order to separate the Nest Thermostat from your account, it is necessary to perform a factory reset.
Since you're no longer at the property and don't have the Nest app, the new homeowner will need to take control of the thermostat on their end. The simplest way for them to do this is to perform a factory reset of the device. This will remove it from your account and allow them to set it up as their own.
I recommend you send the new homeowner the following instructions:
After they do this, the thermostat will be disconnected from your account, and you will no longer receive the energy reports.
I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, please let me know.
Regards,
Humberto
