Specific Solution to OPT out of RENEW ADS not Google notifications

MrRigas
Community Member

I've done the research. All of the "helpers" take you to notification settings with no real solution to stop getting ads about RENEW. They pop up on my Nest app, they pop up in Chrome, and they are everywhere. And, no matter how much I say no. They keep coming. I am seriously at the point where I am considering walking away from Google entirely.

I live in the Commonwealth of PA. We have protective laws around how we shop for electricity, and when an energy company calls us, we say, "Do not call again". They are legally bound not to call again unless I call them back. And, yet, we can be relentlessly hounded and harrassed to shop for your more expensive electricity.

Poor people and people with disabilities don't care about your grandiose endeavour for the world. They care about paying their bills and living happy lives with their families.

People have limits; if it continues, I'm sure I'm not the only one who will start dropping products.

Hello MrRigas,

Thanks for reaching out and bringing this up. We deeply appreciate your thoughts about the Nest Renew ad, and we'll take them as feedback. But I did find some helpful articles that might help you block or remove unwanted ads. Please check out the links below and let us know if you have any further questions; otherwise, we'll close the thread in 24 hours.

Regards,

Mark

Mark,

Thank you, but your response gives me a sense of you not comprehending my issue. I have a singular problem. Google is trying to force RENEW on me with no option to stop it permanently. Perhaps the only real solution is getting rid of Google Home products and switching to a competitor. Perhaps the real issue is that Google is "The Problem"

Hi there,

I understand your insight about this, as Nest Renew shows for those customers who are eligible to participate in a cleaner and save energy. But I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. Otherwise, this thread will be locked for 24 hours.

Regards,
Mark

Google continues to harass its customers and force products we do not want. They also are now showing up with this ad for renew of my thermostat, which could cause an illegitimate commitment by my toddler touching it. Nothing was covered, and no solution was offered. Google is still trying to force this down my family's throat. This is entirely unacceptable. It makes sense you would lock it. NO MEANS NO! Continue to support these unethical business practices.
