TURN OFF HORRIBLE AUTO-ECO MODE In Nest Thermostat

BB1980
Community Member

HI, I DO NOT HAVE THE NEST APP since my Thermostat does not work with it. I onw this version https://store.google.com/product/nest_thermostat?hl=en-US&pli=1

The thermostat auto set the "Away" mode for some reason, even though I'M HOME. This seems to enable "Auto-ECO" mode as well.

HOW DO I TURN ALL OF THESE FEATURES OFF (There is no clear answer online)

1. Away mode

2. Auto Eco Mode

If I cannot get an answer from this community and resolve my issue, I'm going to have the MOST joy in removing it from my wall and SMASHING it with a 10lb. hammer. This is truly a PITA and the reason why I've not gone all in on NEST products or any other Google "acquired" products.

Hi @BB1980,

I understand that having your thermostat behave in an unexpected way can be frustrating, especially when it doesn't maintain the temperature you've set. I'll be happy to provide you with the instructions on how to disable Eco Mode on your Nest Thermostat.

On the thermostat:

  1. Press the thermostat ring to open the Quick View menu.
  2. Turn the thermostat ring to choose Eco > press the ring to select it.
  3. select Stop Eco to return the thermostat to its regular temperature schedule.

To turn the Away mode please follow the instructions in the following link:

Change Home/Away Assist settings

If after following those steps you still need assistance please let us know so we can assist you further.

Best regards.

Josh

Hi Again, I DO NOT SEE this setting for Nest Thermostat, I DO NOT USE THE NEST APP as mentioned. I am using this piece of garbage https://store.google.com/product/nest_thermostat?hl=en-US. No routines in the Google Home APP either. All good, anyhow it's been smashed and I've moved on. Thanks for replying.
