First I've had an account for several years. I've posted in the past, but now I'm told I need to confirm my email address.

Second I purchased a e-learning thermostat for my current home. Since I didn't have a c wire, I also purchased the Google adapter. The thermostat has ran for over a year without the battery discharging, but several months ago it started to disconnect from the Wi-Fi due to insufficient charge. I received a replacement from Google and for several weeks it worked without issue, but then started failing again. I charge it and will work for anywhere from a day to several weeks without issue. I'm frustrated with my experience recently. I had the same thermostat in another house without issue. Not sure what to do anymore.

FYI, I checked the battery level last night before I went to sleep and it was over 3.8, 4 hours later based on the disconnect message it was under 3.6.

Hi @akaeser52 ,

I completely understand how frustrating it must be to have your disconnecting from the Wi-Fi due to insufficient charge.

Let's see if we can troubleshoot this further. To help me understand the situation better, please answer this questions:

  • What type of Nest thermostat do you have?
  • Is the thermostat display on a stand?
  • Do you ever take it off the stand to charge it?
  • How do you charge it? Directly from the power outlet?
  • When did the issue start?
  • Is there a wiring report or error message on your thermostat and/or app?
  • Do you see a blinking LED light? If so, is it red or green?
  • Has there been any recent work done on your thermostat(s) or heating system?
  • Were there any power outages?
  • What are the power readings in Settings > Technical Info > Power?
  • Is the thermostat display responsive when interacting with it?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you done?

Once I have this information, we can determine the next steps.

Regards,

Josh
