I have tried to uninstall the device but it keeps asking me for a seven digit code which I don’t have I have an entry code which is 6 characters long which it will not accept. Can anyone tell me where to find a  seven digit code? It’s driving me nuts .

Hi Mandy3,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I am sorry that your Nest Thermostat is having trouble connecting to the Heat Link, preventing it from controlling your heating system. Let's work through some potential solutions.

Before we get started with further details, let me ask you some questions

  1. What Nest Thermostat model do you have?
  2. What is the color of your Heat Link's light?
  3. How is the Heat Link being powered when you're trying to pair it?
  4. Did you try to take the Heat Link out of Manual Mode?
  5. What troubleshooting steps have you done before calling us?
  6. When was the thermostat installed?

Regarding the seven-digit code, please keep in mind that it varies depending on the Nest Thermostat generation selected from the list. Additionally, the length of the entry key will differ based on the specific thermostat model.

About the main issue, here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

Basic Checks:

Check Physical Connections:

  • Ensure the Heat Link is securely plugged into a power outlet and the thermostat's wires are correctly connected to the Heat Link.
  • Verify the Heat Link and thermostat are close enough to maintain a strong wireless connection.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart or reset Heat Link: Press and hold the button on the Heat Link for 20 seconds until the LED slowly blinks.
  • Restart Thermostat: Try rebooting your Nest thermostat itself.
  • Restart Wi-Fi: Restart your router to refresh the network connection.
  • Check for Error Codes: If your thermostat displays an error code, refer to the Nest user manual for troubleshooting guidance.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Mario
