Takes a long time to heat up?

PeterFox311

I have the schedule set for 72degrees at 630am but at 730am its still only 67 degrees.

Also, my overnight temp is 67 degrees but it was 65 when I woke up.

I wait hours for the temperature to rise, but it doesn't always kick on the furnace unless I ask it to go up by substantial degrees (more than 5).

Does the system think I have a heat pump or how do I make the system actually use my temperatures and the furnace to achieve those Temps? I'm confused why this "smart" thermostat can't even maintain temperature and keep that temp on schedule?

My outdoor AC unit does not say it is also a heat pump, I live in Minnesota and its been below 30 a lot recently. I am colder than normal after installing the Nest. Can anyone give some insight here? Thanks in advanced.

For clarity, I noticed B line running from the furnace downstairs, but not plugged into the original thermostat, they shoved it down the hole behind the thermostat so I pulled it out and plugged it in for the nest. I have since disconnected it and it seems to have taken away heating pump options.

I may have accidentally tricked the Nest into thinking I had a heat pump.
