Are you pressing the display or just taping it? The Learning Thermostats need to have their display pressed to make selections. If you are pressing it, is it moving? If it isn't then pull it off and check to see if there is damage to the display or baseplate or if a wire is blocking it.

Hi @BLWojo,

Thank you for reaching out to the community! I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with your thermostat display, specifically a backlight problem. I'd be happy to assist you with this.

To better understand the situation, could you please provide the following information:

  • When did this issue first occur?
  • If the thermostat was recently installed, what is the make and model of your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment?
  • Are the circuit breakers on, and is your home receiving power?
  • Is the thermostat display properly seated?
  • Are all the thermostat wires firmly seated in their terminals (with no loose or exposed wires)?
  • Does the thermostat charge via a USB cable?

I'll be ready to assist you further as soon as you have that information.

Best regards,

Debora
